Malaysian Student Visa Help!!?
im a international student in malaysia , i lost my passport so i had to go home and come back wit a new passport back to malaysia. my student visa expires on april 2010, but i just recently gave my passport in for the student visa to be fixed to the new passport will they fine me for over staying ???

Locate the embassy of your country and apply for a new passport. Ask your school/college/university in Malaysia to give you an introduction letter stating that you are an international bonafide student. Your educational institution should have a copy of your lost passport in which the student visa was endorsed. Go see Ministry of Foreign Affairs office and request them to sort out your problem. I don't think you will be penalized. If a police report is necessary or an advertisement in the newspaper is required, do that as well and attached copies of the clips to your case. good luck. j
