i am a polymer engineering student. doing bachelor in malaysia. could you tell me what is the career prospect of this course in your country. please notify your country.

Plastics and composites are slowly taking over most things formally made of metal. The future is wide open. In Malaysia you would probably me in to manufacturing. The future would be good. If you want to do R&d, you would probaly need to get a masters. It would be a lot of work to start the R&D firm in malasia. But it is a lot or work to start any business anywhere.

When I was study at US, some Malaysian student ask me. Do Sarawakian and Sabahan still live at tree top?
Only Malaysian student from West Malaysia ask me that question. Singapore student never ask me this type of question. Why? LangkauGaris, do you know that Sabah and Sarawak don't have Train service? LangkauGaris, once my friend visit Ipoh town. His friends ask him, " Does Kuching has shopping center like Ipoh?" Dude do you know that Kuching is much bigger then Ipoh. What I am tried to said is a lot of west Malaysian had no idea of East Malaysian. LangkauGaris, no offend taken. Don't worry.

Or are we fooling ourselves? Look at it this way, if we remove the link to the judeo-christian deity, islam becomes zero cos muhammad & allah cannot be trusted.

i also have this experience and i feel just want to chop their body!!!!!!!! we sabahan and sarawakian are not 'kaum Tasaday' who lives in filipina in the jungle.... damn!!!!! you'll who try to ask this Q to me.... *thats true effendi... *garishalus= dk didnt bluff!!!! i also have experience it... and many of my friends also... and i hope semenanjung people dont ask us about that in here....

I was not so long ago with a Malaysian student - a Malay - on the phone and at some moment he asked me when I would come to Malaysia. I explained nicely that I was in Malaysia, living here in Sabah kan... he asked a staggering three times, each time with more emphasis on the word MALAYSIA until I gave up. I related this story to two friends, and both have had similar experiences while studying in Peninsular Malaysia. They were asked: "when you finish your studies, will you stay in Malaysia or go back to Sabah?" Now these are recent incidents, and while we have just celebrated a mystical 50 years of Malaysia I find it is not only sad, but also rather worrying that Sabah and Sarawak are still not considered Malaysia amongst many West Malaysians... now I am still waiting until someone asks me if we live in trees! I have heard that story many times, but I have not yet been 'victim' myself. Thus, the question is: what do they learn at Schools in West Malaysia about Sabah and Sarawak???

Students from west malaysia have got not much chance to travel to east malaysia. I have heard my grandfather telling me that too, with explanation that there are many orang asli there. It was later when i grew up thn i found out my grandfather bluffed!! Singapore students never asked cos they have never seen a tree that has got a house on it in real life. They thought all houses are actually flats or landed property.

What is wrong living on a tree? I would find the biggest tree and build a house on top of it like Robinson Crusoe. It would be the coolest crib ever built!!! Just imagine: waking up to the sound of chirping birds, watching the sun rises through the morning mist while enjoying the fauna and flora. That is what I called "a piece of heaven!!!". Sadly, I do not live on a tree but it would be a privilege to live on one!

Try this : Some people ask me whether Sabah and Sarawak use the same currency as Semenanjung, how do we come to Semenanjung (by car or train), and the most ridiculous question : is Sabah in Malaysia????? helloo... The one asking about the currency thing was Chinese. This is not about anti-semenanjung sentiment, this is about... errmmm... 'how come they didn't know those stuff'? One person asking is okay but, more than 10? My friend was singing some Malay song while having a seminar at Kajang and someone was so surprised that my friend can sing to awie's song. ?????? Hahaha... we can sing britney spears too hehe.. no anti-what so over la here, just find it funny.. hihi... i'm 'interneting' on top of a tree... beautiful view..

LangkauGaris, I wish what you said is true, but actually they (esp my stupid seniors) did ask me that when I first came to Melaka to study in a boarding school. They even ask me how my tree house look like. They can't believe me when I said I rarely go into forest, so forget living in it. By the way, that LRT question is valid. Where got LRT in Sabah & Sarawak? Edit: Another real life experience. I studied in Tawau until I was form 3. So one day, one teacher from Semenanjung was introduced to us. In her first class with us, she told us that she was surprised that Tawau was not as she imagined before. When she received her posting letter, she was worried that she was sent to a jungle and she start imagining living without clean water and electricity with no proper transportation etc. But when she arrived, she was amazed that Tawau is actually a modern town with buildings made of bricks, not wood, and we do have electricity, tap water, buses, taxi etc and jungle is nowhere to be found. She finally said that there is not much difference living in West M'sia and Sabah.

it is rather offensive to be mistaken for living in trees in the jungle. And people wonder why i want Sabah and Sarawak to be indepepndant from Malaysia. They think we are incapable of running our own government because they think we live in trees in the jungle It is this kind of thinking that is the reason why Malaysians wont let Sabahans become bosses instead sending people from semenanjung to come and rule us. ------------------------- when i was in the US other Malayasian international students thought Sabah was part of the Philippines. I thought they were joking... they werent.

How much our government(Malaysia) lavish on the students to study abroad?
How much our government lavish on a student who pursuing his/her study to US? how much is their monthly allowance? can anybody tell me the approximate value?

its not the same amount for every student. so the best thing i can tell is try contact the KEMENTERIAN PELAJARAN MALAYSIA.

I'm not sure on how much they are getting nowadays but I guessed it would be better than when I was studying in the US in the 80s as the Government have increased their allowance by up to 90% via the last Budget. Anyway, I used to get USD505.00/month and book allowance of about USD500.00/year when I was doing my masters in san diego. San Diego is considered zone A and students in Zone B would get about 15% less. Such allowance barely pay for lodging and food as cost of living was quite high and still is. You see, in the states, they really impose the limit on how many people can stay in an apartment. You can't simply squat. For example, I use to pay about USD500.00/month for rent. This I shared with another Malaysian. So, 50% of the allowance went to rental. This did not include bills for electricity, gas, etc. So, I don't think government is spending lavishly on students under their scholarship programs. Unless your FAMA (Father/Mother) is rich, you tend to make do with what you have to get your degree.

Why not give help to all malaysians irrespective of all religions? Is it not time to help all races and faith to improve in life?

hi, i am a kenyan citizen and i may be going to university in malaysia. If i have a student visa to malaysia can i get into singapore (for short trips) without having to apply for another visa or do i have to?

Depends anyways if you can meet all the requirements they need. Try your luck.

visa requirement is based on the passport you are holding, not the country you are residing

Kenyan Passport holder don't not need VISA to enter Singapore. you be allow to stay from 7 - 14 days when arrival ( max 30 days ). REF to www.ica.gov.sg > visa requirement.
